Our Lobbyist: Louis Giordano
Mr. Louis Giordano received a Bachelor's degree from Illinois College (Jacksonville, Illinois) and a Master's degree in Political Studies from the University of Illinois at Springfield (Springfield, Illinois).
Mr. Giordano founded Giordano Consulting Services, Inc. It has become a successful government relations firm providing legislative services, as well as assistance, to companies wanting to do business with state government. In addition, Mr. Giordano co-founded Systems Evaluation and Analysis Group, Inc., (S.E.A. Group, Inc.) and has been responsible for expanding this business from a 2 person firm to a $5 million dollar annual business with 25 full time employees.
Prior to establishment of his own business, Mr. Giordano served in Governor James Thompson's Cabinet for 5 years as Director of the State Department of Personnel and as the first Director of the Illinois Department of Central Management Services. The Department of Personnel was responsible for the development and administration of all personnel policies for 65,000 state employees. Central Management Services was created to manage all administrative affairs of Illinois State Government and was responsible for a budget in excess of $1 billion dollars. Immediately preceding his cabinet positions, Mr. Giordano was responsible for the re-design of the social services delivery system in the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services and was the Chief Administrative Officer for the Illinois Department of Public Aid where in addition to his administrative role, he designed and managed the implementation of the most innovative and first photo I.D. system in the nation.
As Senior Planning Officer for the Social Security Administration, Mr. Giordano coordinated the conversion of the Supplemental Security Income Program for Illinois, Indiana, and Michigan.
In addition to his government and private sector activities, he has taught Public Administration and Political Science at Loyola University of Chicago and College of DuPage County, Illinois. Mr. Giordano also holds several U.S. Patents for designs of golf clubs.
