Mini Masters '08!!

Every year it’s gets better and the 5th Annual Miniature Masters in the Mart was another amazing success! With the largest participation of design firms, showrooms and sponsors and a rocking 19th Hole, this year’s Mini Masters set a standard for MINIATURE GOLPH EXCELLENCE!

The Merchandise Mart hosted the Registration and Tee Off in the north lobby kicking the evening off with appropriate festivities. “Golphers” then proceeded to the three contract floors to enjoy the creativity and craftsmanship of participating designers and contractors. Despite the number of showrooms under construction for NeoCon, 21 showrooms participated in this year’s event - 18 golph holes and 3 watering holes kept over 300 people amused, entertained and nourished. Golphers chipped thru ice holes, virtual balls, stringing toilet paper, laminate water traps, spinning hazards and revolving buckets in the pursuit of getting the elusive hole in one.

Interior Alterations hosted the 19th Hole in BluPrint where exhausted gophers and their fans relaxed on adult beverages, hors ‘d’o’s while listening to the dulcet tones of Joe Freer and his jazz band. Three winning golph holes were awarded the coveted “Mini Masters Caddyshack Dancing Gopher Award”. Sponsors donated over 21 door prizes - one for each participating showroom.

The event raised over $40,000 for the Illinois Interior Design Coalition. Thank you to all the sponsors and participants. We look forward to seeing you all again there next year at MMM ‘09 to be held next March.
